Character Personality: Many have seen Gwendal as a stern and grumpy man, often acting older than he appears. Though, really, his appearance belies his age. He’s actually over a few hundred years old, though he looks to be a little over 30 with early wrinkles (no doubt from all that frowning he does). So acting like a grumpy old man is not that far off. But to be fair, he has acted this way because growing up he always felt the need to be the adult of the family. No one else would be, after all. Not only that but before Yuuri became Maou, Gwendal ran the Demon Kingdom. Of course, even after Yuuri became Maou, he still ran the Kingdom. Almost all paperwork goes to him and he is stuck dealing with it. But being the Commander of the Demon Army and running the Kingdom has made him an excellent tactician and strategist. Despite not being very fond of Yuuri at first, he also has an intense loyalty to now only his country but his king. He will do what he thinks is best, even if war is the only option he sees (let it be known that Yuuri has found ways around war and even Gwendal is finding respect in this).

However, he does have a rather strange quirk about him. Two, actually. He has an intense love for cute things. At the mere sight of a bearbee he will proceed to blush and quite possibly lose the ability to speak coherently. This is also a secret. The worst kept secret. Ever. Everyone knows about it but everyone will not make a comment about it. His other worst kept secret is knitting. Well, this is actually a better, but still worse, kept secret. Only the people he cares about know about it. While he tells everyone that he only knits for the sake of developing his concentration skills and to give himself better ideas, it’s really a stress relief. Though, let it be known that anything he makes will never turn out the way he says it did. A pig will get confused with a bear, a cat with a raccoon, and so forth. They still turn out rather cute, however.

Despite not showing it often, he does care for his family very deeply. While his youngest brother, Wolfram von Bielefeld was rather vocal with his dislike of humans and even his own brother, Conrart Weller, Gwendal seemed to be neutral of the matter. As one may have noticed, all three brothers have three different last names. That’s because they all have the same mother, but three separate fathers. Only one is ever known and that is the human Dan Heeley, Conrart’s father. Gwendal, however, hated him. Dan Heeley became a huge influence in his life because he hated him so much. It took him quite a bit of time to get over what many have called the “Demon Pride” which was the hate of all humans and of course, to be proud to be a demon. However, unlike Wolfram, Gwendal learned his lesson very early on his life and to this day is very neutral on the matter. As such, he cares for his family deeply despite the contrary to how he acts most of the time.

Character Abilities: He is one of the best swordsman in the Demon Kingdom, third really to his brother Conrart Weller and the advisor Gunter von Christ. He is also a skilled horseback rider and Earth magic user, able to create giant boulder with a single touch to the ground he stands upon. He’s a skilled tactician and strategist, knowing the ins and outs of war is what he knows best. Along with his earth magic, he able to create unseen shields. Although only seen once when he blocked Wolfram’s wayward fire magic from killing one of the maids, it is unknown if the shield can block physical objects as well.

Character Weaknesses: Gwendal is almost stubborn to a fault when it comes to his ways and how he does things, he doesn’t really like change. He’s learned to come to terms with this due to Yuuri however, it still a hard habit to break. Also, while it wouldn’t necessarily deter him in battle, he may go save that little kitten mid way through. Cute things are, after all, his weakness. Also, he is currently blind in his left eye. His eye was the Key to one of the four Forbidden Boxes, “The End of the Earth” and during the last arc of the show, The Great One, aka King Shinou, took three of the four keys, meaning that Gwendal lost the function of his eye. As of now, that is his blind side until they defeat the Great One and restore the Keys to their owners.

[ MEISTER SECTION ]

Why your character should be a Meister: Gwendal has been a leader for a long time, he knows how to direct and command people. He can also handle a weapon fairly well and is stubborn enough to learn how to use something other than a sword if he needed to. And, believe it or not, he knows how to take orders too. All Gwendal knows, for the most part, is how to fight and helping out in this war would be a great asset. Being the weapon would only make him feel restrained.

Soul Appearance: Light green in color with his low ponytail on the side, his left eye will be a bit faded though.
